Abstract
► Porous Ni3Al alloy was prepared through the Kirkendall effect. ► Porous Ni3Al stayed stable in strong alkali solution after 2000 h immersion. ► The alloy had more positive free corrosion potential than porous Ni and Ti. ► A Low corrosion current and a wide passive region was found in porous Ni3Al. ► During the corrosion procedure of porous Ni3Al, diffusion became the control step.
