Abstract
A new concept of synthesizing dual-amorphous-phased bulk metallic glass (DAPBMG) with soft magnetic properties was proposed. The specific (Fe,Zr)-based bulk metallic glasses with dual-amorphous phases were successfully fabricated by hot-pressed consolidating a well-proportioned mixture of Fe-based and Zr-based glassy powders in the temperature range of their overlapped supercooled liquid region. It was found that the DAPBMG with content of 50 mass% Fe-based glass still holds soft magnetic properties basically similar to that of the added Fe-based glass.
