Abstract
Creep behaviour of the Sn-40% Pb-2.5% Sb peritectic alloy having different grain sizes was studied by long time Vickers indentation testing at room temperature. Based on the steady-state power law creep relationship, the stress exponents were determined. The corresponding strain rate sensitivity (SRS) indices of 0.38 and 0.34, depending on the grain size of the materials, indicate that grain boundary sliding is the main mechanism during room temperature creep deformation of these superplastic alloys.
