Abstract
►Helium ion bombardment can produce a porous surface on titanium alloys. ►Size and density of pores display strong temperature dependence. ►hFOB culture shows cells are not negatively affected by the porous surfaces. ►Surfaces from helium ion bombardment may be beneficial for orthopedic implants.
