Abstract
► Silicon oxide is deposited on polyethylene powders in a fluidized bed. ► The water contact angle of powder can reach very low value. ► The higher the deposit surface coverage is, the lower the contact angle is. ► Layer growth on the powders and simultaneous oxide dusts formation in the gas phase ► All results can coherently be explained by a “nucleation and growth” mechanism.
