Abstract
⺠Silicon oxide is deposited on polyethylene powders in a fluidized bed. ⺠The water contact angle of powder can reach very low value. ⺠The higher the deposit surface coverage is, the lower the contact angle is. ⺠Layer growth on the powders and simultaneous oxide dusts formation in the gas phase ⺠All results can coherently be explained by a “nucleation and growth” mechanism.
