Abstract
⺠Type I hot corrosion of Ni-rich β-NiAl alloys with Co, Cr, and Pt was explored. ⺠Mass change measurements and microstructural observation were utilized. ⺠5 at% additions of Co, Cr, and Pt to Ni-36Al were beneficial for Type I resistance. ⺠Cr was most beneficial, followed by Pt and Co. ⺠Benefit attributed to rapid formation and healing of thermally grown Al2O3 scale.
