Abstract
⺠In this study we follow the orientation changes of grains in Al thin films during thermal cycling. ⺠Repeated thermal cycling leads to severe surface roughening and a change in film texture. ⺠We explain the changes in orientation by classical slip induced lattice rotation. ⺠Orientation gradients within grains are explained by stored dislocations.
