Abstract
⺠We integrate WC nano-particles onto the Al alloy surface via laser shock peening. ⺠The surface hardness increases 21% compared to its original state. ⺠The surface residual stress changes from tensile to deep compressive stress state. ⺠The weight loss in friction-wear test decreases 80% compared to its initial state.
