Abstract
⺠The bioactive glass-ceramic accelerated the formation of HAP on the TiO2. ⺠The glass-ceramic provides a source of Si(OH)4 that favors the HAP nucleation. ⺠The mechanism of HAP precipitation in the presence of Si is described.
