Abstract
⺠The hardening mechanism of anneal-hardened Cr-C deposit was studied. ⺠This hardening mechanism could be precipitation of carbon-related membranes. ⺠These carbon-related membranes transfer to diamond-like structure after annealing. ⺠A Cr-C deposit can be hardened via flame-heating in one second.
