Abstract
⺠Thick YSZ ceramic coatings were prepared by thermal pressure and filtration of sol-gel paint (TPFSP), a modified sol-gel composite coating technique. ⺠The influences of mass ratios of YSZ powder to Zr-Y oxides in sol and external pressure on the microstructure and thermal insulation performance were studied by a home-made measuring method. ⺠The cyclic oxidation tests indicate that both of oxidation resistance and spallation resistance of YSZ coatings were greatly improved. ⺠The TPFSP process could be a promising method to prepare TBCs for wide applications.
