Abstract
⺠Electrophoretic deposition was employed to prepare Al2O3 -Y2O3 composite coatings. ⺠The oxidation resistance of γ-TiAl alloy was improved significantly by the coating. ⺠The coating suppresses the outward diffusion of Ti in the γ-TiAl alloy substrate. ⺠The coating promotes the selective oxidation of Al in the γ-TiAl alloy substrate.
