Abstract
⺠Contaminant oxides were removed by laser ablation from thermal barrier coatings. ⺠LIBS was used to control laser ablation depth and preserve underlying TBC. ⺠Ablation and LIBS technique enable use of PLPS for coating life prediction. ⺠Repeatable and useful PLPS signals obtained from ablated areas.
