Abstract
⺠NiCoCrAlY/8YSZ was deposited on a unconventional substrate. ⺠Electroless nickel alloys were used as the interlayers. ⺠Failure mechanisms with or without the interlayers were clarified. ⺠The thermal shock lifetime and bonding strength were largely improved.
