Abstract
⺠The main contribution concerns the role of numerical simulation and modelling in understanding physical phenomena that occur at the tool-chip interface. ⺠The coatings behavior is considered in this work with the analysis of thermo-mechanical aspects. ⺠The novel in this work concerns the thermo-mechanical analysis of the tool-chip interface and behavior of coatings that should be carefully considered to obtain accurate results.
