Abstract
⺠Plasma nitriding of CoCrMo alloy near 400 °C leads to expanded austenite phase. ⺠The expanded austenite phase is found to be ferromagnetically ordered. ⺠The ferromagnetic ordering is mainly attributed to large lattice expansions.
