Abstract
⺠CdS thin films are deposited by ammonia-free chemical bath deposition. ⺠Films have hexagonal structure with (101) preferential orientation. ⺠Growth begins in the Volmer-Weber mode and changes to the Stransky-Krastanov mode. ⺠CdS quantum dots are formed in the late stage of growth.
