Abstract
⺠We study a possible method on the using of N2 as a scavenger to inhibit the formation of tritium-rich carbon-tungsten coatings in hidden regions of Tokamak. ⺠A strong decrease in the deposition rate of C/W coatings was found with a nitrogen flux of 10 sccm. ⺠Besides the minimization of the deposition, a decrease of carbon in the coating as a function of nitrogen dilution was found. ⺠This finding in fundamental in order to minimize the tritium retention correlated with the amount of carbon.
