Abstract
In this paper, we discuss the existence of positive periodic solutions to the nonlinear differential equation uâ³(t)+a(t)u(t)=f(t,u(t)),tâR, where a:Râ[0,+â) is an Ï-periodic continuous function with a(t)ââ¡0, f:RÃ[0,+â)â[0,+â) is continuous and f(â
,u):Râ[0,+â) is also an Ï-periodic function for each uâ[0,+â). Using the fixed point index theory in a cone, we get an essential existence result because of its involving the first positive eigenvalue of the linear equation with regard to the above equation.
