Abstract
▸ A low cost high temperature (1700 K) solar receiver is investigated for residential scale concentrated solar power generation. ▸ A heat exchanger is integrated into the cavity receiver walls to heat air for a Brayton cycle generator. ▸ Silicon carbide ceramics are used for their high temperature capability, high absorptivity, and high thermal conductivity. ▸ Optimum working conditions were derived to generate 2.5 kW of electricity in minimum space.
