Abstract
⺠The long-term performance of BHE fields without groundwater movement is studied. ⺠A single BHE does not need any compensation between winter and summer loads. ⺠One line and two staggered lines of infinite BHEs need a partial load compensation. ⺠A square field of infinite BHEs needs an almost complete heat load compensation. ⺠Pairs “distance - heat load” that grant long-term performance of BHE fields are given.
