Abstract
The proposed concept to dynamically estimate the casing shoe depth while drilling is based on real time data and intensive geo-modeling pre-processing. The concept will start on paper with the classical casing shoe setting depth estimation which is used to identify the critical zones after which the dynamic model is applied and simulated. If positive simulation results are obtained, then the drilling process can be started. The new model can predict while drilling the position of the next casing shoe, taking into consideration measurements while drilling like pore pressure or formation properties. However, the success of this concept is strongly linked to modern or future technologies of monobore.
