Abstract
► Sonodynamic therapy (SDT) is a new treatment strategy for malignant glioma. ► Glioma stem-like cells overexpressing the ABCG2 transporter were generated. ► ABCG2 decreased the antitumor effect of SDT by sonosensitizer efflux. ► Sonosensitizer extrusion by ABCG2 was inhibited by fumitremorgin C. ► Fumitremorgin C improved the antitumor efficacy of SDT in glioma stem-like cells.
