Abstract
Variations of stratospheric temperature are connected with changes of the solar wind dynamic pressure. This effect could be explained in the framework of the global electric circuit concept. The energy of the solar wind modulates the energy balance of the global electric circuit where the stratosphere could be one of its other elements. The conductivity of the stratosphere in the polar region is equal to and sometimes more than the conductivity of the ground surface covered by ice or permafrost. Re-distribution of the global electric circuit currents between the stratosphere and the ground surface determines a different relation between solar wind dynamics and variations of the stratospheric temperature during different seasons.
