Abstract
A standard algorithm for the inversion of the neutral atmosphere from GPS occultation data is developed at Shanghai Astronomical Observatory, in the light of the corresponding JPL and GFZ algorithms. The inversion makes use of the CHAMP observational data and the inverted results are compared with the data of the atmospheric forecast of ECMWF (European Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasting). The orientation of future development of the algorithm is outlined.
