Abstract
⺠We extensively surveyed craters on the surface of Mars. ⺠This survey reveals exposures of distinct bedrock types in the crater central uplifts. ⺠One type has a unique layered characteristic, similar to flood basalt morphology. ⺠We suggest this rock represents late-Noachian and Hesperian volcanism. ⺠Volume estimates of this material suggests a â¼23% thicker stack of volcanics than previously thought for this period.
