Abstract
⺠We present morphologic and morphometric analyses of a volcanic field in Tharsis, Mars. ⺠The field displays evidence for pyroclastic cones and associated lava flows. ⺠The field is the only one of its kind on Mars. ⺠The eruptive style is explosive as compared to younger effusive lava plains. ⺠This difference could plausibly be explained by a more volatile-rich upper crust in the past or, perhaps more likely, by volatile-richer magma during eruption.
