Abstract
⺠Texture and mineralogy matches well with deposits in Aram Chaos, Juventae Chasma. ⺠ILD: kieserite + dehydr. copiapite, polyhydrated sulfate, spectrally neutral caprock. ⺠Groundwater alteration of sulfate-free ILD or ILD and kieserite formed coevally. ⺠Here, polyhydrated sulfate most probable a weathering product of kieserite. ⺠Nontronite spatially close to sulfates, but in mantling and chaotic terrain.
