Abstract
⺠Methane hydrate formation and dissociation rates at 234-264 K and 1.4-4.7 MPa. ⺠Activation energy for formation was determined to be 35.9 kJ/mol. ⺠Methane hydrate dissociation rates from 3.01 Ã 10â6 to 9.92 Ã 10â5 mol mâ2 sâ1. ⺠Activation energy for dissociation of 32.7 kJ/mol. ⺠Methane hydrate reservoirs on Mars are a feasible source of methane plumes and chaos terrain.
