Abstract
⺠We present high-resolution infrared spectroscopic measurements of Comet 2P/Encke. ⺠2P/Encke is a dynamical end-member because of its short period of 3.3 years. ⺠We measure low gas production rates and very low rotational temperatures (20-30 K). ⺠Encke is depleted in HCN, H2CO, C2H2, C2H6, CH4 and CO, but is enriched in CH3OH.
