Abstract
► We propose a wavelength-dependent model for the branching ratios of CH4 photolysis. ► Its impact on a photochemical model of Titan's atmosphere is assessed. ► Strongest effects are observed in the Lyman-α deprived 500-700 km layer. ► Data needs: branching ratios data for CH4 photolysis in the 130-140 nm range.
