Abstract
⺠We propose a method for estimating jovian auroral electron properties using IR lines. ⺠This method is based on the departure from LTE varies with lines and altitude. ⺠This method is not realistic for the Saturn case due to large temperature dependence. ⺠Application to empirical observations requires enough time and/or spatial integration.
