Abstract
►A comprehensive model is developed to study the atomic oxygen redline dayglow emission. ►The model results are compared with the empirical formula proposed by Zhang and Shepherd (2004). ►An analytical expression for the latitudinal variation of peak emission rate is obtained from model results. ►The analytical expression can be used to find peak emission rate at any latitude and solar activity.
