Abstract
⺠An interaction between the solar wind and crustal magnetic fields on the lunar surface is studied. ⺠Relation between the IMF and lunar crustal field orientation also controls the extent of LEMEs. ⺠Large scale component of the lunar crustal fields parallel to the IMF is essential to the formation of LEMEs.
