Abstract
⺠We examine the behavior of Venus' nightside ionosphere in very tenuous solar wind. ⺠The nightside ionosphere is dominated by O+ with speed less than escape velocity. ⺠The nightside ionosphere is highly extended tailward. ⺠The global configuration of ionosphere resembles teardrop-shaped cometary ionosphere.
