Abstract
► Ultrathin NiS (thickness 0.6 nm) nanoplates grown within Na-4 mica channels. ► The NiS nanoplates have been grown by simple physico-chemical synthesis route. ► These show ferroelectric and ferromagnetic behavior at room temperature. ► The magnetodielectric effect is reasonably high.
