Abstract
► The magnetoelastic properties of Zn substituted Co-ferrites (CoFe2−xZnxO4) reported. ► The coercive field decreases from ∼540 Oe (x=0) to 105 Oe (x=0.3). ► Saturation magnetization increases, peaks to 87 emu/g (x=0.2), and then decreases. ► The peak value of magnetostriction decreases with increasing Zn content. ► The piezomagnetic coefficient reaches a maximum value 105×10−9 Oe−1 for x=0.1.
