Abstract
►The effect of substitution of V for Fe atoms on the magnetoelastic interactions in YFe12−xVx alloys. ►Thermal expansion coefficient becomes a minimum for x≈2 in YFe12−xVx alloys. ►The forced volume magnetostriction is positive and increases by increasing applied fields at high field region. ►At low field region (μ0H≤0.5 T), a minimum appears in the isothermal curves of ΔV/V in the vicinity of the saturation field.
