Abstract
âºThe presence of a finite crossing angle between the two paths of a neutron interferometer degrades its fringe visibility.. âºA crossing angle of 1.0 ?rad was introduced by the use of an optical component consisting of a magnetic multilayer mirror, a wedge-shaped gap layer, and a nonmagnetic multilayer mirror. âºTo restore the interference fringes, magnetic gradients of 0.64 G / cm were applied using two electro-quadrupole magnets.
