Abstract
⺠Beam-gas induced experimental background at RHIC is caused by the electron cloud. ⺠The electron cloud is enhanced by higher intensity and shorter bunches. ⺠This background may become a luminosity limiting factor for RHIC rf upgrade. ⺠RHIC experience and simulation results are reported. ⺠Some possible mitigations are discussed.
