Abstract
A new method, called THOMATE, with the same goals as the backtracing method (Nucl. Phys. A 604 (1996) 183) is described. Unlike the backtracing method, THOMATE takes statistical fluctuations into account and is therefore able to deal with much lower statistics in the experimental results.
