Abstract
The field of medical applications of synchrotron radiation continues to develop rapidly with new results and new techniques in a diverse range of programs. Both imaging and radiation therapy applications are changing and in many respects becoming more and more sophisticated. The last comprehensive review of the field was written by Suortti and Thomlinson (Phys. Med. Biol. 48 (2003) R1). This paper presents selected results that have been published since that review was completed, illustrating the ever-growing importance of synchrotron radiation in medical research.
