Abstract
The decays of ηc to K+Kâ2(Ï+Ïâ) and 3(Ï+Ïâ) are observed for the first time using a sample of 5.8Ã107J/Ï events collected by the BESII detector. The product branching fractions are determined to be B(J/Ïâγηc)â
B(ηcâK+KâÏ+ÏâÏ+Ïâ)=(1.21±0.32±0.24)Ã10â4, B(J/Ïâγηc)â
B(ηcâKâ0K¯â0Ï+Ïâ)=(1.91±0.64±0.48)Ã10â4, and B(J/Ïâγηc)â
B(ηcâÏ+ÏâÏ+ÏâÏ+Ïâ)=(2.59±0.32±0.47)Ã10â4. The upper limit for ηcâÏÏ+ÏâÏ+Ïâ is also obtained as B(J/Ïâγηc)â
B(ηcâÏÏ+ÏâÏ+Ïâ)<6.03Ã10â5 at the 90% confidence level.
