Abstract
The Îί production in pp¯ collisions is studied in the framework of a constituent quark model which incorporates Goldstone boson exchanges between quarks and has successfully described the pp¯ interactions. We focus on depolarization and spin transfer observables measured by the PS185 Collaboration. Theoretical predictions for both observables differ greatly according whether quark-gluon or meson exchange models are employed. The model shares properties of both types and is able to describe the data. The inclusion of the scalar strange κ exchange at the quark level improves the description of the experimental data.
