Abstract
⺠A new traffic lattice model with the anticipation effect of potential lane changing is proposed. ⺠The anticipation effect of potential lane changing on the stability of traffic has been explored. ⺠The mKdV equation near the critical point is constructed and solved through nonlinear analysis. ⺠Simulation confirms that the anticipation effect of potential lane changing can improve the traffic stability.
