Abstract
⺠We investigate the combined effects of repulsive and attractive interaction potentials around charged dust particles. ⺠We observe phase separation and significant changes in the collective mode frequencies. ⺠Lattice summations indicate the onset of instability of the quasi-transverse mode. ⺠The results contribute to the understanding of agglomeration/coagulation of charged dust particles.
