Abstract
⺠The electronic structures of (001) LaGaO3/SrTiO3 interface is calculated. ⺠The effects of atomic relaxation on electronic characteristics are investigated. ⺠Polar distortion in LaGaO3 layers screens the intrinsic electric field. ⺠Polar distortion relieves the trend to a polar catastrophe. ⺠These result in reduced interfacial carrier density.
