Abstract
In the present work, we examine a beam of neutrons incident on a layered array of single-crystal Li6D, for possible fusion interactions. Two processes are examined: relatively high-energy neutron processes and low energy, '1/v' neutron processes. The yield of the low energy '1/v' neutron process gives the output power Wâ³1.1Â MW. A method for moderating the output as well as a technique of extracting energy from the device are described as well. A discussion is included on effects due to neutron reflection in the spaces between slabs.
