Abstract
► Vortex precession was simulated in two-dimensional magnetic dots of finite size. ► A simple qualitative explanation of the observed behaviors is proposed, including seemingly erratic ones. ► Pinning of the vortex motion, unconnected with defects, is also observed and an explanation thereof provided.
