Abstract
Relativistic distorted-wave (RDW) calculations are carried out for the electron impact excitation of the 6sS1/22 state in indium from the ground 5pP1/22 state. Differential cross sections (DCS) are obtained at incident electron energies of 10, 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100 eV and scattering angles up to 10°. The results are compared with recently reported experimental data [M.S. RabasoviÄ, S.D. ToÅ¡iÄ, D. Å eviÄ, V. PejÄev, D.M. FilipoviÄ, B.P. MarinkoviÄ, Nucl. Instrum. Methods B 267 (2009) 279]. This comparison suggests that the relative measurements at the smallest scattering angles are too low resulting in an incorrect normalization.
